I finally found the famous expensive hand grown and tendered apples. These are over $2.50 australian each and are huge. This was at a small market not far from the Ginza metro station where we took our first metro train back to Shinegawa Station opposite our hotel. Just buying the correct train ticket was not easy as the ticket machines although supporting English displays, were extremely hard to understand.

You really need to know japanese to get around this place, strange considering how many westerners visit Tokyo.
